Video from the Rally at the The Center
I put this video together from clips I filmed. There’s a few speeches and part of the “True Colors” performance by the Youth Pride Chorus. It was a moving experience all around. And a testament to how the LGBT community comes together in strength and love. I will uploaded the full speeches & performance soon. Video note: the guitar you hear at the beginning and end is the opening to Borrowed Time by Antigone Rising.

It was a cold and rainy evening, but that didn’t stop people from showing up and staying. Speakers included The Center’s Executive Director Glennda Testone, Speaker of the New York City Council Christine Quinn, and City Council Member Rosie Mendez (Dist. 2). All gave rousing speeches to a motivated crowd. A letter from Cyndi Lauper was read as well. And the Youth Pride Chorus sang “True Colors” and “We’re Not Gonna Take It”. Two very different songs, both of which captured the moment perfectly. I did manage to get some video, which I will post soon.
